Finnish Broadcasting Comapny strongly involved in the tournament
Finnish broadcasting company (Yle) will play a major role in bringing visibility to the championship.
– “It’s truly fantastic that the World Championship matches will be shown on Yle’s channels. The Friday group stage match (Finland–Sweden at 19:00–20:00), Saturday’s Finland semifinal (starting at 19:15), and Sunday’s men’s final (at 17:30) will be filmed and broadcast worldwide. This is a huge step for the sport,” says Jani Raukko, Chairman of Porin Narukerä.

Satakunnan Kansa will handle the broadcasts of the other tournament matches, and the Women’s Final will also be shown live on Yle Areena.

The Pori World Championship will be played outdoors, which makes the event truly special.
– “Playing under the January sky is part of the essence of bandy. The conditions are what they are, but we have everything we need to make them the best possible,” says Raukko.

When the opening day of the World Championship arrives, behind it will be thousands of hours of volunteer work and a long chain of decisions that brought the event to Finland just when the sport needed it most.
– “Opportunities like this may come once in a lifetime. In Pori, we’ll show what the Finnish bandy community can achieve. We want to cherish the sport’s heritage and bring bandy to a wider audience. This tournament is a historic opportunity,” says Raukko.
